Traditional or Contemporary?

Traditional or Contemporary?

If you are visiting our website in the search of a heated towel warmer or radiator, you will see that our site is split into two primary categories, traditional or contemporary.

What's the difference?

Primary differences between the two styles are mainly focussed around the joints. A traditional towel warmer typically has ball joints, whilst a contemporary item usually has simple mitred joints.

Often when working with clients we are asked to advise on whether a traditional or contemporary fitting is most suitable for a bathroom space.

Although a bathroom may be designed in a contemporary design for example, a traditional towel warmer can be a welcome contrast. This adds interest to the overall scheme so be careful not to limit your specification to one of the styles.

What is proving more popular, particularly over the past 6 months, is for designers to specify traditional towel warmers finished in modern finishes. For example, one of our chantry towel warmers, but powder coated in matt black.

This works particularly well in period and historic properties which have undergone refurbishment. The traditional towel warmer is sympathetic to the historic features whilst the finish ties it in with the refurbishment.

Similarly, this can work the other way round. For example, a contemporary, mitre jointed towel warmer, for example, the Fitzroy, finished in a traditional finish such as Aged Brass.

After something unique?

Remember in addition, that our bespoke design service means that if you have a project which requires a completely unique or one-off towel warmer, we can design a suitable project.

With our powder coating service, and range of over 20 finishes, it’s very likely that we will be able to satisfy your needs in regards to the finish of your towel warmer.
