How to keep your Heated Towel Rail looking good for years to come…

How to keep your Heated Towel Rail looking good for years to come…

Here at Rutland Radiators, we pride ourselves on the quality of our Heated Towel Rails and other products which are handmade in our Hampshire factory.

If properly cared for, our Heated Towel Rails can last for generations. In fact, our Hampshire factory recently had a pair of towel rails in for refurbishment which were originally manufactured in our factory over 100 years ago.

Whilst the build quality and materials are vital for the lifespan of our products, the cleaning process and on-going maintenance is fundamental.

Offering our products in a range of over 20 high quality finishes, means that advice can vary between finishes so it is important to ask for individual advice when ordering.

Today we wanted to give you some general advice to give you the best chance of keeping your Towel Warmer, Vanity Basin Stand or Shower Curtain Rail looking beautiful for years to come.

When it comes to the cleaning material, we stress that you should never use any sort of abrasive cloth or pad on the product. If you do, you could cause irreversible damage to the finish of the product.

In addition, we strongly advise using any form of chemical cleaning product or detergent on the products. The acidic nature of some cleaning products can cause damage to a product particularly when used over a long period of time.

Importantly, if the product is floor standing and the floor is regularly cleaned we advise that either the feet of the product are covered for cleaning, or alternatively a neutral cleaning product is used.

In fact, diluted soapy water is a satisfactory cleaning solution for a number of our finishes. If you would like to ensure the finish is looking at it’s best, we would highly recommend investing in our Cleaning Kit.

With regards to the applicator, we offer both Application and Polishing cloths both individually as well as in our cleaning kit. These durable, high quality micro fibre cloths will ensure your product looks its best.
